This a proposal for the certification of competency of the reflexologist by the creation of the following parameters:
"Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet (and hands) with techniques that do not utilize cream, lotion or oil, assessed on the basis of zones and reflex areas with the premise that such work effects a physical change." (Kunz and Kunz, 1983) More definition
Completion of a course of study in a specific reflexology curriculum over a specific number of hours from an approved school / accredited course.

Informed consent / Full and fair disclosure system: Posting of written notice in workplace of: definition of service (scope of practice); the practitioner's training in the service; safety concerns inherent to service; address to write about practitioner's services. Create two levels of reflexology practice, (1) Registered reflexologist (certified as competent to practice for relaxation and beauty) and (2) Licensed therapeutic reflexologist (certified as competent to treat for specific conditions? / diagnose disease? / prescribe remedies?)
1. Educational requirements: Completion of a course of study of 200 hours of education in reflexology specific curriculum (see above-mentioned) from an approved school / accredited course.
OR (Grandfathered) Completed course of study / Traditional education of reflexology practice and two years of professional practice.
2. Practitioner requirements
Participation in an Informed consent / Full and fair disclosure system. (See Board of Medical Quality Assurance, State of California, Report of November 1982, "Appendix IV: Proposed Legislation," p. (1).)
1. Educational requirements: 500 hours. Specific curriculum hours with research paper. (Create requirements typical of a licensed therapeutic profession such as nursing or physical therapy.)
2. Practitioner requirements
